Leaving with a TGV at 8am from the Montparnasse station to Rennes. Break in a coffee shop waiting for the connection for Saint-Malo by TER. Little walk within the city and we come out on the battlements and on the Grand Bé.
We have lunch in a “crêperie” and we take a shuttle boat to get to Dinard. We follow the GR 34 for a while and we get back in the city center. In the meantime, the light drizzle turned into a shower and we start getting wet feet. We go back to Saint-Malo by the same means. Another tour of the city and its battlements before having dinner at the Ancrage. A few clouds remain, they mask the setting sun and add to the scenery.
The firework triggered a bit after 11pm from the Môle des Noires looks rather good and is surprising: I see some of the effects and colors for the first time maybe. The crowd claps and slowly leaves from the Bastion de la Hollande.
The next day, detour via Récit de Voyage, a tea house where pastries look very neat.. and taste just as good ! We walk along the beach and we take a bus to reach Cancale. After lunch, we are back on the GR 34, and we follow it during nearly 2h until the Pointe du Grouin. There are a lot of people on the rocks, and the wind does not weaken.
Back at Saint-Malo. A last “galette” at the Crêperie des Lutins and we take the 20:30pm train for Rennes. From there, a TGV get us back to Paris.
